AGO HMS Hogue from the Thomson Collection :: November 27, 2008
An interesting part of the vast Thomson collection left to the AGO are the more than 130 historic ship models, some of which are displayed under the lobby in wonderful, flowing cases. This is a close up of the 3 metre long "HMS Hogue" builder's model from 1900. The ship was a Cressy-class armoured cruiser in the Royal Navy, sunk by the German U-boat U-9 on September 22nd, 1914.
