St. Augustine Brickwork
Back to London, and interesting High Victorian polychrome brickwork on the side of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church along Queen's Gate Mews. This was a style popularized during the Gothic Revival period in the 19th century with decorative patterns created using bricks of different colours, often incorporating red, black, and yellow bricks to form intricate geometric or foliate designs. It was heavily influenced by the writings of John Ruskin and the architectural philosophy of William Butterfield.
